Screw Job
April 3, 2005
I think it only appropriate that I post a drawing of a giant corkscrew on the night before my colonoscopy. Enuf said.
Now I don't want to scare any of you off of getting your own screening. The prep is about 100 times easier than when I did it 5 years ago. I am starving and planning on working my way through the 5 food groups when I get home tomorrow afternoon.
Other than starving and running to the bathroom, it's been a blah weekend of rain and cold and everyone under the weather. I tried to watch "Closer" with Julia Roberts and Jude Law. I only got about a third through because after too many bathroom pit stops, I lost track of the story, what story there was. Deadly tedious up to the point where I stopped, so I gave up. I still have "I heart Huckabees" to watch tomorrow. This evening I spent a very relaxing few hours watching a BBC series on DVD that I'd given my mother for Christmas. The name is "Mapp and Lucia" and it's one of those witty, period English comedies set in a small village by the sea and the setting is spectacular. And the clothes, oh the clothes! Hand-embroidered coats, matching gloves, elegant hats, garden dresses, morning kimonos for tea in the garden...just what a girl needs when she's starving and cold.
See y'all tomorrow night. Keep on drawing!
