The End is Near

Raise the flag, the end is near! I decided I would not drop The Baby off at some strange repair shop in the Bronx and looked in the yellow pages for a company that makes house calls. The guy was about an hour late, but the company called to tell me what time he'd get there. After futzing around with the laptop for awhile, he announced that I needed a new keyboard, he would order it, and left me with an external USB keyboard to use in the meanwhile. He also confirmed that my DVD driver is screwed up and when he installs the new keyboard, he'll fix it. Best of all, he lives two blocks away and owns the company franchise for this county so he is very available and anxious to build a good, quality service business. Am I blessed or what?

So back to posting, as long as I can keep the keyboard on my lap in the early mornings hours in bed!

Off to pull out the yams, parsnips, and acorn squash that are roasting in the oven. While waiting around for the computer guy all day, I started making a cover for the ottoman that has the stuffing coming out of it. In my art closet, I  "found" a gorgeous chenille coral fabric with dragon flies embroidered on it and two yards of moss green ball fringe. So far I cut out the tops and upper sides and made the welting and sewed it to the top. I've pinned the sides together and tomorrow I"ll finish it up. I  may have to squeak out the rest of the fabric because I forgot aout pattern matching, but if necessary, I hav a coordinating check fabric I can use as a h em. And Stan hung the 3 shelves I bought 6 months ago at Pottery Barn and I now have most of artist books on them. I'll take a photo tomorrow in the morning light and post it.

Enjoy the rest of Saturday night!
