It's Raining! In April! Rain!
This Sad World Over

Rainy Days and Mondays Always Give Me a Headache

Yes, well, okay - it rained 7 inches in 24 hours in my town. Areas flooded that have never flooded before and all the parkways that run north and south in the county are under water. That's because all the parkways were built along rivers and streams. Ah, the days before urban planning! Every school in the county is closed, giving us the first ever "flood day". However, the heavy winds never materialized so we dodged the bullet, albeit a very soggy one.

I am mainlining coffee today, in a futile attempt to break up my standard low barometric pressure headache.  Just to show you that there were effects from the storm, The Bucks was closed due to a power outage! I had to go to the deli and get a plain ol' cup of drip cause I didn't think I could handle grinding the beans and waiting for my own drip to be made.  After pulling out of the parking lot, going around the block, and getting the deli coffee, I drove past The Bucks and wouldn't you know all the lights were blazing? I'll just have to make a trip there later with The Young One who has the day off.

Mr. Pomegranate would like me to inform you all that he was doing taxes all day yesterday because he does

  • our taxes
  • The Princess's
  • Mystery Man's, and
  • his mother's

He is the greatest and he didn't even have a temper tantrum when none of the printers in the house would work off his new laptop and we couldn't find the drivers. We are SO printer-unfriendly in our house.  I don't give Mr. Pom enough credit for all the extra-curricular work he does around here, in addition to his job as a chief financial officer. He pays the bills, does all the school and government applications for the  college tuition, watches the market for our 401(k)s, handles all his mother's finances,  and even does the laundry. What A Guy!  We love you, Mr. Pom!!!
